Pink Petals Florist saves time, increases sales with new website

Parisa Damavandi, owner of Pink Petals Florist, already had a successful and well established home-based business providing and arranging floral designs for weddings and special occasions. Since its inception in 1997, business has always been steadily growing. Recently, business was getting so good, Parisa found herself running out of time to meet with potential clients and show them her portfolio. Clients were continuously requesting an email address or a web address, of which she had neither, in order to save time. She was rapidly finding out that time was a scarce commodity for both her and her clients.

Developing and maintaining a high quality hard copy portfolio is a time-consuming and costly task. Having meetings with potential clients is also a costly and time-consuming part of the job. The new web site lessens the time and cost of both by essentially eliminating the need for a hard copy portfolio and allowing clients to review work on the internet at their own pace and on their own time.

Originally, I wanted the web site because I was consistently getting the same questions from potential clients: "Do you have a web site? You don't ... do you have e-mail? You don't!?" Most of my clients are between the ages of 23-37 and they are familiar with web sites and shop online. I quickly realized it was time to catch up! And now I could get two birds with one stone - allowing my future clients to see my work and prices before they ever step foot in the door, saving time (mine and theirs) and catching up with the times and how business is done these days. I am somewhat computer illiterate, so giving the job to some one experienced - well that was just a given.

The web site, www.pinkpetalsflorist.com, provides sales terms and conditions, a full portfolio of flower arrangments, typical prices, and contact information. As part of their design services, OGO Designs optimized the web site for search engines and researched potential external links to help promote it. As a result, new business has poured in. And, with the time saved with the online portfolio, the number of high margin sales have increased. Brides are booking with no face-to-face consultation, and people well outside Pink Petals own network are placing orders.
